Our Vision
Women farmers have a major contribution in the agriculture sector. Despite their contribution they are unable to get access to several services. Some of them include access to land, proper inputs, financing, markets, agricultural training and education, suitable working conditions, and equal treatment.
Therefore, Alokini was formed by ICAR-CISH, Malda with women farmers belonging to the tribal communities in the districts of Malda, West Bengal. The vision is to empower these women farmers to address the challenges faced by them even before they ever plough a field or sow a seed. In order to make this vision a reality, we are working to ensure access to training, markets, income and quality inputs at lower prices.

Our Mission
We are working to increase the incomes of the smallholder women farmers belonging to tribal communities with improved marketability of produce to ensure better livelihoods. Our mission is to promote sustainable development, equitable agriculture and rural prosperity for socio-economic and environmental advancement. We seek to remove the hurdles in enabling farmers access the markets through the FPO, both as buyers and sellers. In order to strengthen the members of Alokini, they are provided with the required assistance and resources such as inputs, technical knowledge, financial resources and infrastructure.
We are also enabling the use of blockchain technology in our supply chains to make it more resilient and transparent. Many are still not aware of the latest technologies and its advantages. We are introducing supply chain technologies and promoting scientific beekeeping practices, providing training to beekeepers, and setting up honey processing units equipped with modern technology. Thus, giving them access to technology for gaining the benefits associated with it such as access to institutional credits, wider market, operational visibility and financial transparency.
